  • Career Overview:

    • Parikipandla Narahari is a distinguished Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer from the 2001 batch of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. His extensive career includes pivotal roles such as Assistant Collector, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Commissioner, District Collector, Head of the Departments as Commissioner and as Secretary for various Departments.

    • Narahari is a keen reader of Books. His interests lie in reading Biographies and autobiographies. He takes out time to guide youngsters for Leadership development, Civil Services, and Motivational activities.
       

  • Key Achievements:

    • Gwalior District:

      • Barrier-Free City: As District Collector, Narahari championed the creation of a barrier-free Gwalior, making significant strides in accessibility for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and women. His efforts resulted in Gwalior becoming 95% barrier-free within two years, a model of inclusivity featured on Satyamev Jayate.

      • Governance through Janbhaghidhari: Narahari introduced the Janbhaghidhari concept, promoting public participation in development projects. Key projects include Road Construction through public contribution, Construction of boundaries for Colleges, Development of Hospitals and Chouraha development. 

      • Beti Bachao Abhiyan: Passionate about improving the child sex ratio, Narahari launched the "Hamari Ladli" project on April 1, 2012, as part of the State Government’s Beti Bachao campaign. This initiative included Action Against Sonography Centers for the enforcement of PCPNDT Act norms, Introduction of "Hamari Ladli" software and Active Tracker system which successfully increased the child sex ratio in Gwalior from 840 (2011 Census) to 891 (HMIS data) over two and a half years.

    • Indore City:

      • Swachh Bharat Mission:

        • Under his leadership, Indore was recognized as India's cleanest city under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Narahari’s innovative approach, including the song "Ho Halla" sung by Shaan, contributed to this achievement, with Indore earning the title for five consecutive years (2017-2021).​

    • Singrauli District:

      • Model for Peaceful Land Acquisition and Resettlement & Rehabilitation (R&R): As Collector and District Rehabilitation Officer, Narahari managed the land acquisition and resettlement for six major power projects totalling ₹100,000 crores. His work earned him the Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence in 2009 for the Singrauli Model of Peaceful Land Acquisition and Resettlement & Rehabilitation (R&R).​

    • Contributions to Policy Making:​​​​

      • The Ladli Laxmi Yojana, an initiative drafted by Narahari, later inspired the central government's Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana.​

  • Awards and Honours: He got more than 60 awards for his excellent performance in his administrative career till now​​

    • National Award (2016) for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, 2014, for "Outstanding Work in the Creation of Barrier-Free Environment for the Persons with Disabilities in Gwalior District, awarded by the President of India.

    • CRISIL Award (2005): For Excellence in Municipal Initiatives, recognizing the JanSahyog concept under his leadership as Municipal Commissioner of Indore.

    • Best Collector Award: Received three times from the President of India.

    • The Better India Recognition (2017): Named one of the 10 most inspiring IAS officers of the year.

    • Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence (2009): For the Singrauli Model of Peaceful Land Acquisition and Resettlement & Rehabilitation (R&R).

    • Winner of Madhya Pradesh State IT Awards 2012-13 in the category “Best Project Implemented through Innovative Use of Technology” for the successful implementation of the innovative project “Hamari Ladli” for preventing Sex Selection and Female Foeticide.
